BINDU DAM VISIT IN WEST BENGAL
Bindu is a small village situated on the India Bhutan Border. It is a valley surrounded by the hills of Bhutan and India on the banks of river Jaldhaka. The natural beauty of this place is a treat to the eyes with so much of greenery all around. Jaldhaka Dam, one of the oldest Hydro-electric projects is located in Bindu.The dam site can been seen by the tourists from a distance as they are not allowed to visit the dam. CULTIVATION IN BINDU
The people of Bindu are engaged either in Elaichi (Cardamom) or Suntala (Orange) cultivation. One should certainly take a trip to the Godak village. On the way to Godak you can see the Cardamom Curing Centre set up by the Government for the farmers. India’s best- Cardamom is dyed and processed here before shipment. The view of the Bhutan Himalayas and snow clad mountains from here is mesmerizing.
